The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is implementing our new Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) at numerous locations on August 3, 2019. These locations include Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, the Behavioral Health Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and the Specialty Care and Primary Care Clinics. The remainder of SFDPH locations will implement Epic in a series of go-lives in subsequent phases. After August 3, community providers will be able to access SFDPH CareLink from a web browser to review patient charts, send and receive secure messages, and complete other tasks.
SFDPH CareLink is a resource that will enable providers, clinicians and support staff who are participating in the care of a patient to have access to view the patient’s Epic record through a web browser. It was developed to give community providers, such as referring physicians, access to a subset of the EHR data. SFDPH CareLink provides real-time web access to view patient information, while also allowing for easy communication with other providers to assist in quality patient care.
Current SFDPH partner programs that have access to our legacy systems will now have access to SFDPH CareLink, upon completion of required trainings and account provisioning. Those external providers should work with their site administrator or submit an account/service request to gain access to SFDPH CareLink.
External programs without current access to DPH legacy systems or SFDPH CareLink may request access to SFDPH CareLink by contacting DataSharing@sfdph.org to begin the process.
To access SFDPH CareLink, go to carelink.sfdph.org.
External providers who have access to our existing legacy systems will also have access to Epic via SFDPH CareLink.
